Why I do not Read Books?
Happy New Year To Everyone,I know you maybe saying,”He do not read books?” I use books,I do not read them. When I read a book,I do not try to understand everything in the book. The real purpose in learning is mastering.
I read about three books each month. At times I watch the contents of the book and in my own interpretation I will gain my idea,in addition the summary of the book,I gain insightful ideas that I can put together to execute a plan. You could be reading a entire book and you do not understand what the author is trying to convey. To my understanding,if you are not clear as to what you are reading, you will not be able to gain knowledge.
Some people may have to read the entire book to be more precise as to the information in the book,if that is the case,so be it.My point is that the information is in the book,if not applied precisely to your daily life or the business venture you are setting up,failure will be knocking at your door.Application is vital. Is like, you in school studying for your MBA,exams approaches and you realise in the examination you are not getting the answers right.’Problems!’ The information you got in the manual you could not apply it to your exams, exactly!.
Furthermore in reality if you are reading to become a entrepreneur and you can not apply the content to your business,do you think you will be successful? The answer is ,”No!” However failing is good, reason being when you fail you realise where you fell short. In this case study, you gain experience which is more valuable than knowledge I will agree, you may defer, every have their different views.
In my life I am gaining experience,I failed already,I get up and I am going again. The position I was in,was a situation I assure myself I will never be in ever again.I know my mistakes and I gaining information to apply for future development, catch my drift.
Each month my aim is that I will be giving away (2) books at the end of the month, for whoever wants to read.I will like to share the particulars with my LinkedIn members, since my thing is that you do not keep knowledge, you share. My expertise is sales, marketing and training,in reality my books will be aligning with these fields.
I requesting for LinkedIn professionals to grab a coffee with a fellow member, build a connection.Starbucks is always the preferred LinkedIn member meeting venue. The more we are connected as individuals, the stronger we be in knowledge and the more successful we can be in our careers or business.I recently tried a business venture and I came to the realisation that I needed a business partner. The saying, ‘’Rome was not built in a day’’ was the echoing voice at the back of neck. You need that helping hand to carry you ‘beyond the sky.’I definitely will like to be the first to purchase the two cups of coffee at Starbucks, however I will like to see everyone being connected and sharing their story and ideas. It feels so good to do a simple deed, that connection can take you along the journey of success.
When I send a connection to someone on LinkedIn I say,’’Thanks for the connection.”Though a professional my not always reply, however I know I am on a professional platform,so I take the extra step and act professionally.I will like to close with,’’Knowledge is accumulation, wisdom is about elimination’’.
