LOVE WHAT YOU DO!
You have got to find what you love to do.A job that is 8 -4 requires basically your entire day, transit to and from work can be cumbersome due to the constant traffic as those peak times that we are challenged by.
Do you like your 8–4? Let us use for example you are a clerical assistant worker, essentially your job description is of filing, typing, answering the phone, etc. This maybe considered as an entry level job in the working sector.Do you the employee think that you will like this repetitive job on a daily basis eight hours per day, fourty hours a week? The answer to that question is based on your preferences. If you do not love your job,how will you function in the best possible capacity as per discretion.
Residing in Trinidad and Tobago I deter from visiting certain Ministries and some private organisations reason being the customer service is of a minimum, don’t get me wrong this can happen any part of the world,I am just basing this example being a Trinidadian. In a nutshell at times “the service sucks”is like you here but then you not there.Come on people,we are given the freedom of speech, the freedom of choice, slavery was years ago,we are the first country in the world to mark emancipation day as an official holiday. That says alot for our nation.
Don’t be trapped by dogma- which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Most important follow your heart and intuition.Sometimes in life we work all our life and let’s say after ten years you finally realise what you want to do,or you now discover your skill.Life is limited,so do not waste living someone’s dream, whether it maybe your spouse,Mom or Dad choice. You become what you want to become.
Growing up my Mom always told me to become a lawyer, however I did not want that profession as a result to win your court cases you sometimes may have to construct your own plans to execute a winning case, that maybe not necessarily full truth.I on the other hand knew I did not want that for myself.”Everyone is to their own order” so I will not be bias to anyone beliefs, let’s get that pretty clear before moving on,was at that time my belief of that profession was not what I wanted for myself.
Hunting for your true passion in your career is like any great relationship,it keeps on getting better and better as times goes by.I vividly remembered I once took a pay cut from one job to go into another job truth being told the workload was overbearing and so having done that,I was happier as I had more time for myself and loved ones and I even find I was aging slowly,’ ‘just kidding,’however my body and mind felt the way I wanted it to be, great.
In Life I have learnt over the years you will have your ups and downs, however you the person should always be in control of how to handle hurdles when it presents itself and develop a strategy to over- come ones that may want to occur in the future. No one is in control of you,but yourself.I realise it may have workers out there in the working world who may feel resented that better cannot be done. Here I will give you the story about the inspiring life of KFC’s Colonel Sanders, one of best selling meal, any given time of the day. This guy tried alot of career parts,he also was a “trickstar” as we may say, in the struggle obtaining jobs,he will give companies false documents and false certificates, throughout his life he was eager to discover that passion for success he forever desire. It was not unitl fourty years old he started selling chicken dishes in a service station. He had some major setbacks in the journey of selling chicken which could have been detrimental to himself. He then went to franchise his restaurant and he was rejected 1,009 times before anyone accepted it.His secret recipe Sanders named it Kentucky Fried Chicken. Finally the Colonel sold his company for two million dollars at the time.Today you can see the face of the late great Sanders on every KFC box.
He never once gave up,though some may have said he was a bit old at the time of obtaining his fortune, the fundamental value of the story he never once gaveup. We have people in our society that cannot save a thousand of dollars throughout the career life due to loans and everyday expenses. In a nutshell it is vital to sometimes take chances and see where you can end up.
Remember we live locally but we should think globally.
