How To Set Up Linkedin Audio?
As some of you may know, LinkedIn audio has been rolled out to the vast majority of the LinkedIn population
It is still new to many and being a Beta Tester for LinkedIn Audio since November 2021, I am privileged to share some information
Creating a LinkedIn audio event is simple, don’t be flustered
- You go to your home page, click ‘start a post’
- Then click ‘create an event’ and also click event format
- The drop-down arrow should have LinkedIn audio event (if it doesn’t, don’t fret you may not have the new feature, as YET)
- When creating your event, make sure and input your correct time zone, date of the event, and the time the event will be aired (if you don’t, your event will begin at the wrong date and you can’t change it, you will have to cancel your event and your audience will be not too pleased)
- Make sure to put the topics you and your guest or guests will be speaking about in the description section (adding them as speakers, create a buzz (especially if they are content creators adding a lot of value on LinkedIn)
Pro tip: Make sure to use #LinkedInAudioEvent and other relevant hashtags in your broadcast description to spread the word beyond your followers to the actual event day
Thank you, my friend (job well done thus far)
The Well Anticipated Day
Your audio live is to begin in 20 minutes time (anxiety and nervousness kick in)
Relax, you got this!
N.B. LinkedIn REWARDS you when you and your co-host or co-hosts jump into the pre-live at least 10 minutes before the actual event
LinkedIn sends out your event to a wider audience, superbly cool, right?
Audio live begins, host and co-host or co-hosts are speaking in turns
The audience is listening, intrigued by what you’ll are saying
Excitement is on the way, everyone is relaxed, pajamas are worn, coffee at the side
Hair in a mess, who cares, it is no one’s business?
Not even Stevie Wonder can see you
That’s the power of AUDIO!
Moreover,
NOTE: audio events don’t have the recording feature as yet, but soon though
What you can do, is use an external device or third-party platform for your recording purposes
You have four different emojis to utilize a) thumbs up, b) laughter, c) celebrate, and d) heart
You have the icon invite that you can tap and send to a friend or group in the format of a link for them to connect to the audio event and listen in
In addition, you have the icon ‘raise your hand’ when tapping this icon, the host notices you would like to speak, the host then brings you up on stage, and you unmute yourself before you begin speaking
Well lastly, you have the options icon, “leave’ to exit the audio event quietly
Why Audio Events?
1. It helps build a community, you don’t have to be appropriately attired to be in an audio event
2. No one is seeing you, just hearing you
3. You are given the option to speak, everyone can contribute to the conversation
4. You can be anywhere in the world and listen to an audio event and participate as well
5. People feel more comfortable speaking on audio than video, it has many shy people in this world
Simply an amazing tool that I recommend you start using NOW!
